Brian Mulholland is an adjunct instructor of music at the University of Texas at Arlington. At UTA since 2007, he has taught courses in jazz history, music appreciation, jazz combos, advanced improvisation, jazz bass lessons, and music business.

As a bassist, he toured with Maynard Ferguson. Mr. Mulholland’s debut album, Deco (2005), was featured in the Maynard Ferguson Presents Series. His recorded performance highlights include Ferguson’s Grammy®-nominated studio album, The One and Only (2007), and the Maynard Ferguson Tribute memorial concert DVD (2007). Other highlights include the 7th Bucharest International Jazz Competition Finals (Dan Cavanagh Trio) and performances throughout Germany and Hawai’i with the UTA Jazz Faculty.

He has been a clinician in the U.S., Canada, and Germany, judged jazz ensemble festivals, and performed at International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) and International Society of Bassists (ISB) conferences.

Mr. Mulholland holds degrees from the University of South Carolina (B.M., magna cum laude) and the University of North Texas (M.M.) in jazz studies.
